BIO
Love in Elevator’s grunge-oriented style of dark, noise-rock music has evolved over the years, with elements of post-punk in their debut EP Venoma (2004) and first full-length album Sue Me (2005). Their second full length, Re-Pulsion (2008), featured Franz Valente on drums and produced by Giulio Ragno Favero from Il Teatro degli Orrori. This was followed up by a third full length, “Il Giorno dell’Assenza (2010),” produced by Marco Fasolo of Jennifer Gentle and featured Verdena members Alberto and Luca Ferrari.
On January 2017, the band released a 7” “Unlocked//Beyond Your Inner Sea”, which leaned into a more heavy art-rock, dream-pop direction. Love in Elevator toured across Europe, the UK, and extensively throughout Italy. They were selected as the official support band by post-punk, grunge and hard-core icons Shellac (USA), Mudhoney (USA), Meat Puppets (USA) and Refused (S) in their previous Italian tours. Love in Elevator was also featured in the line-up of some of Europe’s largest festivals: Rock in Idro (2005) (sharing the stage with Juliette Lewis and the Licks, Turbonegro, the Hives) and All Tomorrow’s Parties UK (2012) (with Neurosis, Mono, Kim Deal and many others).
“Lies to Stars” (released on April 18th, 2019, via Lagoonar/Riff Records/Fuzzy Cluster Records) is the fourth studio album by the band. The album was entirely produced by Love in Elevator, recorded and mixed by Andrea Volpato at Fox Studio in Venice, Italy, and mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service. The album is an attempt to release attachment and expectations, moving to the beat of a “dance macabre” exploring conspiracy, love and space travel.
